In English we have started to look at balanced arguments. In class we read a debate about 'Should cars we banned from the centre of town centres?' We discussed the different for and against opinions from the article. We discovered that there needs to be an equal amount of opinions for for and against for it to be balanced!

Here is our success criteria for writing a balanced argument:

Third person
Past tense
Involve the reader
Emotive language
Question as a title
Rhetorical questions (questions we do not need to answer)
Opposing connective (on the other hand, alternatively)
Supporting connectives (equally, addition to)
Introduction - showing one side of the argument
Conclusion - showing a more balanced opinion

 In English we are going to look at biographies! Below is a tick list for writing the perfect biography!









In English, we've started looking at story writing. We've worked hard on creating a setting by using appropriate language so the reader knows what genre of story we are writing. We have thought about using adjectives and adverbs for description, but choosing the right ones to create an image in the reader's mind! At the start of the week, we read a mystery story and thought about how the writer kept our interest! Now, we are writing a sequel to this story.
